Logis "truffe"

From mid-November to mid-March the truffle, like a mysterious star, an object  of all desires and of all kinds of gourmandise, haunts the chefs’ and the  gastronomes’ minds.

In the Luberon, at the base of the Mont Ventoux or in the Enclave des Papes, at his time of the year the truffle growers with a pick in the hand and a shoulder bag pace up and down the truffle groves. The truffle hides underground; one has to track it at the foot of a holm oak or of a hazel tree, to spot a "burnt ground or brulé" around a  trunk , or let a clever dog guide you... In Provencal this is called "caver".

All our Logis Truffle  hotel-keeper and caterer  are celebrating the tuber mélanosporum  with original and secret recipes  according to the Chef’s imagination.

8 Logis signed the charter "Logis Truffle" and they are honouring this divine nugget from November to March.

This charter has been elaborated jointly by the Logis of Vaucluse, the departmental union of truffle growers and the truffle society of the  Mont Ventoux and of the Comtat Venaissin.

Our hotel keepers committed themselves to offer  their guests for at least two month during the truffle season  a truffle dish with the black winter truffle  or fresh tuber melanosporum, to elaborate a main course with at least 10g  truffles per person. 

In the Vaucluse winter time is intimately linked to black truffle; come and discover its strong flavour that you can find at all the fine tables of the « Logis Truffle ».
